Shui-yin Sharon Yam is Professor of Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies and Affiliated Faculty in Gender and Women's Studies at the University of Kentucky. She is the author o two books--Inconvenient Strangers: Transnational Subjects and the Politics of Citizenship (winner of the 20201 CCCC Outstanding Book Award) and Doing Gender Justice: Queering Reproduction, Kin, and Care (co-authored with Natalie Fixmer-Oraiz). Her public scholarship has been published in outlets such as Foreign Policy, Hong Kong Free Press, The Diplomat, and The New York Times. Her poetry has appeared in Adi Magazine, Consequence, Action,Spectacle, among others.
